Neil Barrett 2013 Fall/Winter Collection

 

“I don’t like to be visual, I like to be graphic,” a statement from UK-based Neil Barrett after his Fall/Winter 2013 show that rings true from the visuals of the presented collection. Always one to avoid being showy, of which Barrett associates as being “visual,” the collection instead maintains the designer’s affiliation towards sophisticated silhouettes and mature albeit progressive graphics. The Fall/Winter 2013 collection has all that and then some with bold, contemporary patterns and clean shapes including cropped and tapered pants, classic Barrett coats and cinched leather jackets, most pieces of which were fastened with Velcro — a system that isn’t as visual as others. Inspired by the ’90 and Bauhaus, the presentation is another accomplishment in the designer’s signature style that won’t disappoint avid Barret fans.
